STEM and Lego bricks in a Library

Sažetak
Kroz povijest knjižice su se susretale s različitim izazovima i uspješno im se prilagođavale. Jedan od izazova suvremenoga doba je provedba STEM projekta u knjižnicama. Pojam STEM dolazi iz engleskoga jezika i predstavlja akronim satkan od početnih slova četiriju područja – science, technology, engineering i mathematics. U provedbi STEM-a često se koriste Lego kocke jer su zanimljive djeci, uz koje i uče igrajući se. Knjižnice u Americi osigurale su svoje mjesto u provedbi STEM-a te su u članku predstavljeni programi koje provode – radionice slaganja Lego kocki, programiranja, pravljenja robota itd. Također je i Ogranak Borovo Naselje Gradske knjižnice Vukovar organizrao radionicu slaganja Lego kocki, koja je detaljno predstavljena u članku.

Summary
Throughout the history, libraries have met a great number of different challenges and they have successfully adapted to them. One of the challenges of modern times is the implementation of the STEM project in libraries. The term STEM comes from English language and is an acronym of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In implementing STEM, bouth teachers and librarians often use Lego bricks because they are interesting to children and they learn when they play with them. The libraries in United States have gained their place in implementation of STEM project, so this paper presents the programs they are carrying out – Lego bricks building workshop, programming, roboticks, etc. Also, Vukovar Public Library, Branch Borovo Naselje organized Lego bricks building workshop last summer of wich this paper is about.
